The natural Protector is a modular system of pots which can be installed on a rooftop and combined like a jigsaw puzzle. Each pot is opened on all four sides to form an impermeable base design for the cultivation of plants. In summer, the plants in the gardens of lower ceiling temperature of the building, while in winter to maintain warm structure. This system is an energy saving and also helps the environment. I like it! It's simple and green.

Autogrill's Green Roof Stations

Description

Italian Autogrill opens three service stations in Orte-Ravenna eco road building designed by Giulio Ceppi from Total Tool, Milano. The green roof, watered with rainwater, makes a high level of insulation and reduces impact on the landscape.

The building construction used are fully recyclable polystyrene and insulation, which are then covered by a layer of concrete. Air conditioning is based on a special system low enthalpy geothermal energy production.

All-in-all helping to reduce CO2 emissions by 75% while energy consumption is reduced to 35% compared with the traditional cafes of this type. Artificial lighting comes from LED technology and interior materials such as resin floor, are all natural and recyclable, too. It is a truly unique sustainable project that now develops further. As populations grow, it becomes increasingly difficult to find a green space. Toronto is the struggle, with their newly Green Roof by-law.

The Green Roof by law, it is imperative that any new building that exceeded at least 50% green area. The Toronto by-law decided by a vote of 36-2, which is a big step for the living environment.

“Toronto’s by-law provides a new opportunity to strengthen the emerging practice of integrated green building design," said Steven W. Peck, the president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities. "[It] breaks new ground on how to structure a mandatory green roof"
