Most buildings are content to get a portion of their heating systems of solar technology, but this innovative structure of Josef Jenni produces twice the energy requirement, with its massive solar roof.
By using large flat plate solar thermal design of Josef Jenni transports the solar heat accumulated in the roof in a large 200 cubic meters of tanks through the copper tubing. The system has the dual advantage of being able to provide the house with zero carbon emissions while hot water heating your floor.
To date, the design of Josef Jenni is the most dramatic example of solar energy technology in the world, but its success is likely to influence many other construction projects to follow suit, especially in countries where the heating building throughout the year can be a monumental expense.
