Shadows Bus Shelter

If you've never taken the bus you knows that the integer part of waiting can be a total drag. It is usually my luck i'm going to be tempted by the store nearest to snack on something fast and end up missing my trip! This intelligen bus shelter design , specifically for the city of Dublin, imagined housing synchronized with buses to provide riders with a visual indication of waiting times estimated through simple LED panels, changing color, in my mind its just like a shadows. Designed for Dublin’s bid to the 2014 World Design Capital, designer John McGowan also thought that the shelter must reflect the characteristics of the city. The protective cover consists mainly of concrete reinforced with fiberglass which is then coated with a thin layer of bronze; a material with deep historical roots in Ireland. Contrasting the traditional material, the form takes inspiration from monument Spire of Dublin, an architectural design which has been described as one of the few that complement the traditional style of the city.
