A credit union may not be the type of building you expect to have the pleasure of, but the Shimura Branch by Emmanuelle Moureaux design incorporates a completely delicious.
The architects behind this project have only recently completed another location for the Sugamo Shinkin Bank of Tokyo, in which structure shares much in common with the stark white and spectral characteristics of this particular project. In order to convey a friendly approach to customer service, customers have chosen to put an establishment with a playful attitude.
The real inspiration comes from building the image of the many layers of flaky puff pastry dessert. Emboldened with a flat battery light neon, the Shimura Branch by Emmanuelle Moureaux seems to open space while it essentially locks. References: emmanuelle.jp and dezeen.
