The Buildings Or Bookselves?

De Batavier in Lootstraat, Amsterdam is a facade of books designed by the artist Sanja Medic, ceramist P. Kemink and graphic designers Melle Hammer and Susanne Laws. It was commissioned by the Dutch Organisation for De Alliantie and HVDN Housing Architects. The facade of books is actually a 'library' of 250 books on ceramics. The names of the spines of the books are actually works of the 18th and 19th Dutch writers and poets whose names are now used as street names in the surrounding neighborhood.
