The Avondale Heights Library and Learning Center, designed by H2o Architects, is nothing if not unusual when it comes to what a museum should look like. The design of the institution, located in a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, is very simple, as a result of the budget allocated to the project and the functional aspects of space. To compensate for this simplicity, the Avondale Heights Library uses an amazing mural to capture the attention of pedestrians. In addition to the surreal murals that plays with perspective, the Avondale Heights Library and Learning Center is designed to minimize environmental impacts. It has solar heating and a water collection system and the positioning of the building to maximize natural light. References: h2oarchitects.au and archdaily.
